'Follies' understands that the proposed Academy at Ashington is not to go ahead following threats to deselect any County Councillor who supported it.
We understand money from the airport 'windfall' is be used instead to support a Trust School.
This is why the County are also proposing that Blyth will have to put up with an increase in the Academy size to make up for the shortfall in cash for the collapsing PLF schemes.
Once again public money to help schools go private!
Perhaps its about time the Labour Party in Blyth Valley made it very very clear that any Councillor supporting these moves against Labour Party policy in Blyth that they too will be deselected.
