WE DEMAND THAT TONY RIED RESIGNS

This decision is just wrong
It's hard to criticise Labour members for deciding not to use windfall cash to offset the budget of Northumberland County Council next year .
But it is easy and completely justifiable to criticise them for gouging cash out of the sparse wallets of the most vulnerable members of the electorate: the old and the infirm.
Forcing them to fork out ever larger sums for their care - and reducing the amount that's provided - is mean minded, tight fisted and fundamentally wrong.
And they have the gall to boast about keeping the rise in council tax down. At this price, ladies and gentlemen, it cannot be worth it.
